Sparky (or Norskwood Scarlett Sparkle to call her by her posh name) was one of Anya’s first litter with Champion Tiganlea Viscount Nilsen (Merlin) born 26th May 2008. I’d been hoping to get a lovely Silver Tortie Tabby girl but Anya amazed us by producing a wonderful litter including 2 rare Red girls.
From a tiny kitten she had a fantastic purrsonality and was incredibly naughty (not helped by being led astray by Miss CP who being a little older should have known better!). As she developed it became obvious that she was turning into a lovely Norwegian with a perfectly straight profile, good boning and size, lovely triangle and coat.
She is one of those cats who has instant purr- she loves to be tickled and will chase a laser pen for hours. She is in love with Greebo and they often cuddle up together and give each other a really good wash (you can tell she’s Buffy’s Granddaughter- Buffy likes everyone to be spotless!). She also gets on well with Miss CP, Delilah and especially with Hugo (Steve’s housecat). In fact, she gets on well with all our cats.
Sparky loves going to shows and is a real show off. She has done well so far and at her last show was awarded Ex1, Best in Variety and was Nominated for a Semi Longhair Special as well as Best in Show which she almost won; there were 2 votes for her and 2 for another kitten and the deciding judge had to draw the winning kittens’ number from a hat as he couldn’t make a decision- unfortunately it was the other kitten’s number that was drawn.
