Welcome to our site. We are proud to be breeders of Norwegian Forest Cats, a wonderfully natural breed of cat, which was introduced to the UK in the late 1980's.

Almond shaped eyes in colours that range from emerald through to gold or even blue. Long flowing coats. Triangular heads with faces that have that distinctive “look”. Impressive ear furnishings and snowshoes. Each time you see a Norwegian Forest Cat it is a feast for the eyes. Each time you touch their glorious coats it is a delight to the fingertips.

These are the cats that explored the world with the Vikings, protecting the grain stores on land and at sea. They are believed to have left their progeny on the shores of North America as a legacy to the future.

These lovely cats are really two for the price of one, they can differ so greatly in looks from summer to winter.

During the Spring, they take off their winter underwear (the thick woolly undercoat that provides warmth), leaving the long non-tangling guard hairs that act as a water proof protection against wind and rain.Their ear furnishings that deflect the wind can grow to 3 inches long, and remain all year. Their tail is always magnificent and plume-like; this is used to “talk” with their human and cat friends. Perhaps most impressive is their ruff. On a mature cat, i.e. one of over 4 or 5 years of age and used to spending time outside in cold weather, the ruff is nothing less than spectacular being long, dense and full. This will shorten in the Spring and Summer, but will reappear once the days begin to shorten and the temperature begins to drop.

Norwegian Forest Cats were designed by Mother Nature. They come in all colours with the exception of Colour Point (such as those colours exhibited by the Siamese), Lilac, Cinnamon, Chocolate and Fawn. Their eye colour compliments their coat colour. Darker cats require less coat to keep warm since they absorb more heat from the sun. Lighter cats tend to have bigger coats with more woolly undercoat. Because they are a natural breed, their coats do not require the amount of attention that some other breeds do- Mother Nature does not have brushes and combs after all! Their mature size varies from line to line, but they are a large elegant, intelligent cat that loves human company. They fit in well with family life and like to get involved in all that their humans do.
