Norskwood Cordelia 'Cordy' |
||||||||||
Norskwood Cordelia (or Cordy as we call her) is from Buffy's first litter of kittens and was born on 24th May 2005. We hadn't intended to keep any of the kittens, but Cordy decided that she was going to stay with us. For a couple of months we worried that we'd have the World's first Norwegian Shorthair as Cordy's coat had been zealously over groomed by her Mum and "Auntie" Willow, and it took ages to grow back! Fortunately, it has come back with full force and she has a lovely full coat now. Even her whiskers, which had been gnawed on by her brothers and sisters have made a remarkable recovery of late. Cordy is a pretty Brown Ticked Tabby with good boning and we're hoping that she'll develop into a breeding Queen in time. She was the shyest of the litter, but she is very loving and likes nothing better than to share Ali's pillow at night. As she is growing rapidly, this might not be a viable option for too much longer. Cordy is fast friends with Izzy and Willow. She gets on well with all the other cats, but often irritates her Mother when she gets the wind up her tail and becomes too boisterous! Watch this space to see her grow up. Cordy has done well as a kitten at both GCCF and FIFe shows and we were especially proud when she came 3rd in a class of 8 girls at the National Cat Club Show in December 2005, and when she was up for Nomination for Best in Show at the FIFe show in Welwyn in March 2006. She will now be going out occasionally to shows in the Adult classes where we hope that she will continue her success. Cordy won her first Champion Certificate at the Felis Britannica Show at Tonbridge on 16th July 2006 and was also put forward for Nomination. She behaved impeccably and was much admired even though it was a blisteringly hot day. Cordy came to the FIFe Garden of England show at Swanley on the 20th and 21st October 2007. She won her Open class both days giving her the 2nd and 3rd CAC’s that she needed and she is now a FIFe Champion. She was also up for Nomination on both days- she is our very first home grown titled cat, and because she‘s from our first ever litter of kittens, that makes her very special. Cordy came to the Viking Cat Club Show in Rugby in December. She came second in her CACIB class on Saturday, but won the class on Sunday and was up against Greebo for BIV (he narrowly beat her!), and was also up for Nomination. |
