  :: Buffy's Kitten Week 8 ::
Tuesday 29th August 2006

Is it that time of week already? Where does the time go to? Well, it's been another packed week for us cats. Anya is 7 weeks old and now weighs almost a kilo- the same as a bag of sugar Mum tells us. We, of course wouldn't know as we don't take sugar!

Up the tree!

She is certainly more agile than Cordy was when she was a baby. She jumps and leaps and is even climbing the tree now (or at least as far as she can do- Mum made Dad put something around it to prevent us cats from escaping!). I think it's that Izzy leading her astray- they play tag round the garden and then race to get up the tree trunk.

She is showing a great deal of interest in human food at the moment and when Mum and Dad have their supper, she appears as if by magic. I shall have to show her some table manners- she thinks nothing of plonking herself on Mum's tray and trying to help herself to the bits of food that appeal! The only time I really like human food is when I'm pregnant- then I really fancy a bit of Chinese….yum!

Profile!

We had some excellent news on Saturday- Willow's boyfriend Shred became a Champion! So he's even more posh now. And it was so exciting on Bank Holiday Monday; Willow was wandering round the house meowing all the time, then later that night she went into labour and produced 5 babies! I tried to help, but Mum said I was getting in the way and I couldn't believe it when she chucked me out of the room.

Later on we found out that one little girl had died- I know that Mum tried to revive her, and so did Willow but it was no good. So I gave her a wash and Dad buried her in a nice sunny spot in the garden yesterday. Still, she has 4 kittens and I know Mum is helping Willow to feed the littlest girl. Cordy and I have kept an eye on the proceedings and we'll give a helping paw if we're needed. The kittens are so small compared to my big lump of a kitten, but I'm jealous of Willow having more than one even though I wouldn't be without my Anya.

Right then, I've wittered on enough for one week.

Buffy
